The 'Universal Machine': Italo Calvino and the Tarot Cards

"Manlio Cecovini Study Society" promotes a series of lectures scheduled every third Tuesday of the month in Trieste.
The first session will take place on Tuesday, November 21st at 6 p.m. at Antico Caffè San Marco (Via Cesare Battisti, 18, 34125 Trieste TS), and will be led by Professor Gianni Cimador - a Literature teacher at the Nautical Institute of Trieste - under the title "La “macchina universale”: Italo Calvino e i tarocchi" (The 'Universal Machine': Italo Calvino and the Tarot Cards).
Cimador will guide us on a journey to discover Italo Calvino and his interest in tarot cards, which the author viewed not as a folkloric tool to predict unlikely futures, but as a point of intersection of typically semiotic, philosophical, and psychological themes.
