The Manlio Cecovini Study Society will take part in èStoria 2026 with the participation of its scientific director Luca G. Manenti, who will be featured in two events scheduled for 30 and 31 May in Gorizia as part of the international festival dedicated to history and cultural dissemination.
The first event will take place on Friday 30 May at 6.00 pm at Sala Dora Bassi in Gorizia with the talk “Arturo Reghini, Pythagorean, Mathematician and Freemason”. In conversation with Giacomo Louvier, Manenti will explore the thought of the Florentine philosopher Arturo Reghini, a central figure in twentieth-century Italian esotericism and Masonic culture. The discussion will examine the relationship between Pythagorean studies, mathematics and initiatory thought, also focusing on the links between Freemasonry and anticlericalism as an expression of mankind’s search for spiritual emancipation.
The second event will be held on Saturday 31 May at 10.30 am at Palazzo de Grazia with the conference “To the Glory of the Great Architect of the Universe. Freemasonry and Religion”, featuring Manenti alongside Fulvio Conti and Stefano Cosma. The meeting will offer a journey through more than three centuries of Masonic history in order to explore the complex relationship between Masonic institutions and religions. Starting from Anderson’s Constitutions of 1723, the speakers will analyse the historical reasons behind the Catholic Church’s excommunication of Freemasonry, its relationship with Protestant and Jewish communities, and the symbolic meaning of the “Great Architect of the Universe”, a central figure within Masonic tradition.
Both events are free of charge and open to the public until all available seats are taken.
