An event dedicated to the memory of Diego Redivo, historian of Adriatic Italian identity and a leading figure in the research and cultural promotion of the region, as well as to the presentation of his latest volume, “Of Dante and Other Poets. Influencers of the Past and the National League”. The meeting will take place on Wednesday, 6 May 2026 at 6.00 pm in Trieste, at the headquarters of the National League in Via Donota 2 (third floor).
The initiative will offer the public an opportunity to explore Redivo’s final work, completed last December, and to commemorate both his personal and intellectual legacy. A highly regarded historian and scholar of Adriatic Italian identity, Redivo held significant roles in preserving and enhancing historical memory, while also distinguishing himself as a cultural advocate and mentor to younger generations.
Following the opening remarks by lawyer Paolo Sardos Albertini, President of the National League, the volume will be presented by Professor Stefano Pilotto and Luca G. Manenti, Scientific Director of the International Society for the Promotion of Manlio Cecovini’s Historical, Social and Ethical Studies. Together, they will guide the audience through an interpretative reading of the work, highlighting its principal themes and cultural significance. The book offers an original reflection on the role of Dante and other great authors as influential figures capable of profoundly shaping the thought and society of their time, providing a perspective that connects past and present.
The event, with free admission, will also serve as an occasion to remember Redivo as a researcher, intellectual and point of reference for many young scholars, to whom he passed on his passion for historical research and civic commitment.
Through this gathering, the figure of Diego Redivo is presented in his full dimension: a rigorous scholar, passionate communicator and key protagonist of an intense cultural activity linked to the history and identity of the eastern Adriatic.
