Yesterday, 6 May, the headquarters of the Lega Nazionale hosted the presentation of Diego Redivo’s posthumous book Di Dante e di altri Vati. Gli influencer del passato e la Lega Nazionale (“On Dante and Other Bards. The Influencers of the Past and the Lega Nazionale”).
The event opened with introductory remarks by the President of the Lega Nazionale, Paolo Sardos Albertini, followed by speeches from Stefano Pilotto and Luca G. Manenti.
The author, who passed away last January, did not live to see the publication of the volume, which is devoted to some of the foremost icons of Triestine patriotism, from Dante Alighieri to Gian Rinaldo Carli, and from Guglielmo Oberdan to Riccardo Pitteri, to name but a few. Before an emotional audience, the conference also addressed the themes of irredentism, the First World War and Fascism, while seeking to pay tribute to Redivo’s tireless research work, which has left an indelible mark both on historiography and on the memory of those who knew him.
