Presentation of the Books by Luca G. Manenti and Andrea Comisso

23 December 2025

On Monday 22 December, at the Old London Pub in Trieste, Luca G. Manenti and Andrea Comisso presented their respective books La massoneria italiana. Dalle origini al nuovo millennio (Carocci 2024) and La fortuna del mercante di anticaglie (Hammerle 2024).

Both authors ventured into a variety of discursive fields, ranging from literature to art and history, engaging directly with the audience in a relaxed atmosphere. The attendees were eager to learn and have grown fond of the numerous events organised by the Società internazionale di divulgazione Manlio Cecovini per gli studi storici, sociali ed etici.

The genesis and development of Freemasonry and the short story as an expressive form to convey values formed the core discussion points of a conversation rich in insights. Topics included Pinocchio as an initiatory tale, Marguerite Yourcenar’s L’Œuvre au Noir as an alchemical novel, and the hidden messages embedded in Mozart’s compositions.
