Lecture by Daniela Picamus and Roberto Spazzali
A new event in the lecture series organised by the cultural association Società internazionale di divulgazione “Manlio Cecovini Study Society" will take place on Tuesday, 25 November at 6:00 p.m.
At the Antico Caffè San Marco in Trieste, Daniela Picamus and Roberto Spazzali will deliver a lecture entitled “Silvio Benco: An International Outlook Beyond Trieste.”
The talk will aim to highlight an often overlooked aspect of Silvio Benco’s work — his role as a translator and as a critic of other translators. It will explore his contributions through translations from German, particularly Goethe, and his connections with other translators such as Lavinia Mazzucchetti, Giuseppe Antonio Borgese, and Vincenzo Errante.
The event, free of charge, is part of the monthly series of meetings organised by the Società internazionale di divulgazione “Manlio Cecovini” per gli studi storici sociali ed etici, held every third Tuesday of the month, aimed at fostering discussion and deeper reflection on historical, social, and ethical themes.
