Tomorrow afternoon at the Circolo della Stampa the latest book edited by Professor Luca Manenti (aa.vv. L. Manenti, R. Kodrič, A. Dessardo, L. Milazzi, A. Mola, J. Cergol, R. Norbedo, F. Senardi) will be presented, entitled "From Trieste to Europe. Manlio Cecovini politician, writer, freemason", the book offers an overview of the cultural and political events of Trieste, the peninsula and the continent in the last century. 'Eight scholars contributed to this volume,' explains Professor Manenti, 'exploring the multiple aspects of a character of undoubted cultural depth, capable of arousing strong contrasting feelings. This is enough to explain his fascination for the historian, the political scientist, the Masonologist and the literary critic, each of whom, while concentrating on their own field and their own particular point of view, could not avoid touching on other aspects of the Cecovini phenomenon, thus creating a fabric of cross-references and interwoven analyses in the plot of the book'.
With a degree in history from Milan, Luca G. Manenti holds a PhD from the University of Trieste and is a researcher at the Institute of the Italian Resistance and Contemporary Age in Friuli Venezia Giulia. He deals with Freemasonry, the Risorgimento and Irredentism. He has published the monographs Massoneria e irredentismo (2015); Da Costantinopoli a Trieste (2015); Storia del Sana- torio Triestino (2017); Si soffre ma si tace (2020, with P. Karlsen); Di un'altra Italia (2021, with F. Todero).
