On Monday, September 4th, at the Brussels Office of the Friuli Venezia Giulia Region, a public conference was held on the history of Trieste titled "From Trieste to Europe: The Faces of a Frontier City". In front of an attentive and engaged audience, Dr. Luca G. Manenti - scientific director of the "Manlio Cecovini International Society for Historical, Social, and Ethical Studies" - presented a glimpse into Irredentist Trieste, the Masonic aspect during the period of the Free Territory of Trieste, the Trieste of the "melon," and the two city souls, Italian and Slovenian, as they emerge from the Cecovini-Rebula correspondence.
